Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TLC Tech Ventures LLC (“ClearComp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the ClearComp service available at https://www.getclearcomp.com (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Policy applies to two groups:

  • Customers — businesses that subscribe to ClearComp to track and visualize commission data for their sales teams.
  • Reps — sales representatives who access the Service through an invitation from their employer (a Customer).

For data we collect directly from Customers (account info, billing info), ClearComp acts as a data controller.

For data Customers upload about Reps (names, work emails, commission figures), ClearComp acts as a data processor on behalf of the Customer. The Customer determines what data is uploaded and how it is used. Reps with questions about that data should contact their employer first.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: name, work email address, company name, password.
  • Billing information: processed and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store full credit card numbers.
  • Communications: messages you send to us through support, email, or in-app forms.
  • Phone number (optional): if you enable SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA), we collect a mobile phone number to send one-time verification codes. Phone numbers used for 2FA are not used for marketing and are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

2.2 Information Customers Upload About Reps

Customers upload commission and production data about their Reps, which typically includes:

  • Rep name and work email address;
  • Sales production figures, commission amounts, and payout history;
  • Split codes and territory or job assignments.

We do not ask Customers to upload Social Security numbers, government identifiers, full bank account numbers, health information, or other sensitive categories of data, and our Terms prohibit doing so.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, timestamps;
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you logged in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts;
  • Send SMS one-time passcodes for two-factor authentication, if you have enabled SMS 2FA;
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • Send transactional emails (welcome messages, trial-ending reminders, payment receipts, security alerts);
  • Respond to support requests;
  • Monitor for fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • Comply with legal obligations;
  • Analyze usage to improve features and reliability (in aggregate or de-identified form).

We do not sell personal information. We do not use Customer Data to train machine learning models, and we do not share Customer Data with advertisers.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as described below:

4.1 Service Providers (Subprocessors)

We use trusted third parties to operate the Service. Each is bound by contractual obligations to protect your data:

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseDatabase hosting and authentication
VercelApplication hosting and deployment
StripePayment processing
TwilioSMS delivery for two-factor authentication
ResendTransactional email delivery
Sentry (planned)Error monitoring

We may add or change subprocessors as the Service evolves; this list will be updated when material changes occur.

4.2 Within Your Organization

  • A Rep’s commission data is visible to that Rep and to authorized administrators at the Rep’s employer.
  • A Customer’s authorized administrators can see all Reps and data within their company account.

4.3 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is required to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ClearComp, our users, or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

If ClearComp is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and any material changes to this Policy.

5. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: We retain your information for as long as your account is active.
  • Cancelled accounts: Customer Data is retained for a reasonable period (typically up to 90 days) after cancellation to allow export, then deleted from active systems. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
  • Billing records: Retained as required by tax and accounting laws (typically 7 years).
  • Support communications: Retained as needed to provide ongoing support and improve the Service.

You may request earlier deletion by contacting support@getclearcomp.com, subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect information, including:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all traffic;
  • Encryption at rest in our database (Supabase);
  • Role-based access controls;
  • Login authentication and session management;
  • Rate limiting and monitoring for suspicious activity.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@getclearcomp.com.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements);
  • Export your information in a portable format;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise these rights, email support@getclearcomp.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

For Reps: Most data about you in the Service was uploaded by your employer. Requests to access, correct, or delete that data should generally be directed to your employer first; we will work with your employer to honor valid requests.

7.1 California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not “sell” personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA.

7.2 European Residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, the lawful bases for our processing include performance of a contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (to operate and improve the Service), and consent (where required). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep you logged in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may prevent the Service from working correctly.

8.1 SMS Messaging

If you opt in to SMS-based two-factor authentication, you will receive transactional one-time passcode messages from ClearComp. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on account activity. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of further SMS messages, or HELP for assistance. Opting out of SMS will disable SMS-based 2FA on your account; you can continue using authenticator-app (TOTP) 2FA instead.

9. Children

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice in the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
