Commission tracking software for insurance agencies

ClearComp calculates producer commission on the production you record — splits with CSRs and agency owners, overrides, tiered ladders and clawbacks included — and gives every producer a portal that shows how their payout was built.

Why agency commission is hard to track

Shared books
Producers, CSRs and agency owners share credit on the same business, at different percentages.
Production ladders
Rates step up as a producer's production crosses thresholds, and retro ladders reprice the whole period.
Clawbacks
Cancelled policies and chargebacks have to come back out of a later payout, visibly.
Producers who want proof
Every producer wants to see the math behind their check, not a single number.

How ClearComp handles it

Split codes
Name each producer–CSR–owner arrangement once; record production against it.
Overrides
Pay agency owners or managers a percentage of a producer's commission.
Tiered ladders
Retro, step-up and retro-to-step-up tiers, for example 25% up to $300K, 40% above.
Adjustments and clawbacks
Correct or claw back any payout with a recorded reason and a full audit trail.
Draws and salary-plus
Guarantee new producers a minimum with forgivable or non-forgivable draws.
Producer portal
Producers see production, pace to goal and every payout line by line.

A clawback, shown honestly

A producer earned $3,200 this month on a retro ladder. A policy written last month cancelled, so $400 of prior commission comes back.
Producer payout for the month
Commission earned this month$3,200.00
Clawback: cancelled policyRecorded as an adjustment with a reason.−$400.00
Net payout$2,800.00

Insurance commission questions

Can ClearComp split commission between producers, CSRs and agency owners?

Yes. Create a split code for each arrangement — for example producer 70%, CSR 30% — and record production against it. Each person's share runs through their own plan.

How are chargebacks and cancelled policies handled?

Record them as adjustments on the producer's payout. Adjustments can claw back, correct or add to any payout, and every change is kept in the audit trail.

Does ClearComp download carrier statements?

Not today. Upload production by CSV using ClearComp's template, or enter it in the admin panel. CRM sync is on the roadmap.

Can I track the carrier or line of business on each sale?

Yes. Add custom fields to sales — such as carrier or line of business — and they're recorded with every entry.
